General Data Protection Notice

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is new legislation which applies to all companies and organisations including clubs. This ruling must be implemented by 25th May 2018 in the form of a Privacy Policy Notice. Our Severn Spinners Club Committee have therefore drawn up a Privacy Policy Notice which maybe be viewed via the link below. This has also been circulated to our embers via email. All our Members are asked to look at this document carefully and we believe it should not be a problem for you to accept the terms which will apply. Any questions may be submitted to the Committee via the website Contact Form or directly to the Committee as per details on our membership card.    Thank you –  Club Committee

ALL MEMBERS – PLEASE READ & RESPOND

The committee are taking the necessary steps to comply with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which becomes effective on the 25th May. As you may expect, this is not particularly complex for us and we have been assisted in the compliance process by the BMFA, providing advice and document templates for clubs. Accordingly, we have published a club Privacy Notice which requires a positive response from each individual.

THIS IS IMPORTANT
Please read the attached notice and then respond with:

‘I HAVE READ AND AGREE TO TERMS OF THE SEVERN SPINNERS RCS PRIVACY NOTICE’

To pre-empt some questions I would add:

  1. a) We only hold the personal information contained within the Membership Application Form (Address, Telephone No, email address, Date of Birth, BMFA No, Signature)
  2. b) In future, anyone renewing their annual membership more than 3 months late will need to complete a ‘Member Details Form’ as we will have deleted their personal data from our records. This does NOT mean that they will need to re-apply for membership.
